Christian Louboutin, 2012 spring and summer footwear continuation of the classic shoe design: red, rivets, waterproof. Unlike in the past, but, shiny fluorescent colors, transparent material, stitching and embroidery make considerable ethnic customs classic old again shine with new vitality, each pair are addictive
I have a new crush and it is on the Louis Vuitton Damier Infini line. Vlad and I saw this piece in the SoHo store a few weeks ago and since then, I can’t stop thinking about it. I want Vlad to have the Keepall 45 for himself, but in all honesty, I think I secretly want him to get it so I can use it myself on weekend trips.
The Damier Infini line gives Louis Vuitton lovers the Damier pattern in a new rendition. The iconic Damier motif in soft calf leather speaks to the LV lovers heart, offering an elegant finish to a contemporary house favorite.
Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2012 runway show was a joy to behold for a variety of reasons: the enormous carousel set piece bearing dozens of the world’s best models, girlish clothes in the most powdery and feminine of pastels, luxury in every detail. The entire collection felt fresh, light and joyful. Personally, though, I was distracted by one thing and one thing only, which was trying to guess how much the littany of crocodile pieces, from bags to jackets, would cost once they hit retail. Not only is crocodile astronomically expensive all on its own, but Vuitton tends to charge a premium for all of its products, above and beyond most another brands.
For the handbag star of the collection, the Louis Vuitton Crocodile Old Speedy Flap, we now have an answer, but go ahead and try to guess before you peek.
Check out Jason Wus full Pre-Fall 2012 handbag collection!
It’s not hard to see why Jason Wu is one of our favorites; not only is Wu one of America’s greatest young designers, but he manages to do ladylike and feminine without making the entire enterprise feel stodgy and old fashioned. He walks a very fine aesthetic line and he walks it very well and to great effect. I’m sure you’ve noticed the excitement over Wu’s impending Target collection, and that anticipation didn’t come out of nowhere.
We were lucky enough to get our hands on the lookbook for Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2012 accessories, and the handbags are exactly what you’d expect – elegant without being too stiff, girlish without being too prim. As you could probably guess, my favorites were the brights. Check out the photos and let us know which designs you like in the comments.
Mother Nature decided to send a downpour of rain with a mix of wind and a sprinkling of downright nasty to NYC today. I’ve been stuck inside desperately trying to find a way to boost my spirit and keep me moving while the weather is so drab.
This Chanel bag will bring a smile and an intense sense of yearning to everyone who sets their eyes on it. No matter what it looks like outside my window, the Chanel Classic Flap in Gold Alligator makes everything right in my world today.
Oh, to be Lady Gaga. The world adores you, designers pine to make ornate crazy couture items for you, and you have by far the coolest and most moving commercial (Google Chrome) on TV this year.
But the main reason I am envying Lady Gaga right now is because Karl Lagerfeld designed a one-of-a-kind Chanel bag to be paired with her Chanel Haute Couture white tweed dress with black trim. Accessorizing her dress are Chanel pearls, camelias and bows while her white bag features one black and one white flower applique. If you wonder why Lady Gaga had this amazing Chanel moment, it is because of the launch of Gaga’s Workshop for Barneys NY.
If you want a great explanation of the multiple reasons why this collection’s India reference was such a brilliant move by Karl Lagerfeld, Style.com’s review really nails it – the last days of the Raj are a fitting metaphor for the current political and economic climate, not to mention that the inspiration is a relevant comment on how fashion manufacturing has changed in recent years. Or, if you just want to see the bags already, hurry up, geez – they’re after the jump.
Chanel Cruise 2012 should appeal to Chanel purists
The posting of any Chanel collection brings a wide range of responses – joy, rage, the sounds of overcome shoppers fainting and terrified credit cards weeping. Sometimes, it also brings consternation from fans of the traditional Chanel aesthetic – where have our classics gone? What is Uncle Karl doing with our beloved brand?
For those of you who fall into that last group, Chanel Cruise 2012 Handbags should be a sight for sore eyes. Even with the addition of the Boy Chanel bags and a few new takes on the quilted flap, most of these designs are the sort of stuff that quickens the pace of a Chanel fangirl’s heart. Be careful, the pictures after the jump may cause spontaneous shopping – after all, these bags are available now at your friendly local Chanel boutique.
A look at the Chanel Spring-Summer 2012 Ad Campaign
Chanel’s 2012 Spring-Summer Ad Campaign combines a mixture of entirely majestic with a touch of athletic to showcase the upcoming collection. Shot by Karl Lagerfeld, the campaign focuses on the clothing and accessories being portrayed in a very elegant manner, as the models pose on different athletic (mostly gymnastic) apparatuses.
Chanel Exclusive New Bags For The Bellagio Las Vegas
With that reopening comes five (5!) special edition bags that will be exclusive to the Chanel Bellagio Las Vegas. The bags, all variations on the brand’s much-lauded Classic Flap, have a little bit of extra sparkle to them that feels right at home when discussing Sin City. There’s even one with a dice charm – how appropriate. Take a look at all of the Bellagio exclusives after the jump, and to purchase
I don’t know if you’ve tried to buy a Chanel bag recently, but it can be downright difficult to find even something as basic as a black Chanel Classic Flap. Demand for the brand’s bags seems to be nearly endless, and seasonal styles and collection staples alike are here today, gone tomorrow. Not to mention the prices, which are perpetually rising. Don’t even get me started.

Check out the bags of Chanel Spring 2012 Pre-Collection
I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say that Chanel puts out more distinct collections of bags than any other premier designer on the planet. Not only are there the standard four that every brand gives us, but Chanel also has things like Chanel Pre-Collection Spring 2012, which is separate from the actual Spring 2012 collection. That’s just how much the folks at Chanel love us, you guys. They can’t stop giving us bags to ogle.
Not only that, but each Chanel collection is divided into two smaller groups – the regular stuff and the Outstanding Pieces, which are either exotics or some sort of incredibly special embellishment like hand embroidery or strassing. I’ve included both groups in the photos after the jump, mostly because I’m greedy and I like all of my Chanel goodness at once.
I’m so excited that I don’t even know where to begin, so let’s just say that there’s a real treat waiting for you guys after the jump. We’ve received images from Chanel of a few of the bags from Chanel Metiers d’Art Pre-Fall 2012, and they are gorgeous. Most of the intricately adorned bags play on the Boy Chanel theme, and the results are a bit tougher than the Chanel that some of you might be used to. In my book, that’s a vote in their favor; I’ve long wanted Chanel’s bags to find a direction like this one, and now that they have, the results are among my favorite Chanel bags in years.
Vlad and I took a moment out of Fashion Week madness to stop by one of our favorite cafes and get a delicious hot chocolate together for Valentine’s Day. The majority of our day was spent attending fashion shows with some talented designers, including Tory Burch and Oscar de la Renta, but we wanted to make sure to take a moment out of the madness for ourselves.
As much as I know that Valentine’s Day is blown out of proportion, I am a true romantic so I find myself a bit in love with this holiday. I’d like nothing more than to spend Valentine’s Day with my hubby and then be presented with a small arsenal of whimsical Chanel accessories. When it comes to the perfect Valentine’s day gift from the handbag world, I say opt for feminine and elegant, which is precisely what Chanel is known for.
Alice Dellal’s Boy Chanel handbag video makes its debut
I’m normally a fan of all the products of Karl Lagerfeld’s acute insanity, but I’m not sure how I feel about My New Friend “Boy”, the new short film (read: commercial) that Lagerfeld directed, starring Alice Dellal (little sister of Charlotte Olympia designer Charlotte Dellal) and Chanel‘s new Boy Chanel bag line. Does Instagram have a new video app that I don’t know about?
I’m not sure that Dellal is much of an actress, and stomping around a mansion with a beautiful handbag just a little too far out of frame for it to be properly seen doesn’t do much to make me interested in the bag, even though I adore the Boy Chanel line. If Lagerfeld had dialed back the vintage filtering just a bit, I think the video (and its audience) would have benefited immensely, but I’ll reserve final judgment until the still shots emerge; Chanel’s have been beautiful recently. What say you? Take a look at the video above and sound off in the comments.
Fashion critics may have loved Chanel’s seafaring Spring 2012 runway collection, complete with literal seashell clutches, but future handbag customers were a little more hesitant. After all, when the inspiration is that literal, exactly what are the non-runway accessories going to look like? As it turns out, they look like an utterly gorgeous collection of bags in powdery pastels, faithful to the Chanel DNA but somehow with a lighter, fresher touch.
One of our Twitter followers alerted us that Chanel had made these images of Chanel’s Spring 2012 Handbags available on their website yesterday, and I couldn’t have been more pleased with what I found when I went to investigate. The collection is heavy on the excellent Boy Chanel shapes, which bring the flap bag construction to a younger, less ladylike audience. I’ve also included the collection’s Outstanding Pieces with those post, which means that there’s plenty of precious pastel exotics to enjoy after the jump. Oh, and some bling. We (and Chanel) wouldn’t deny you some bling
